Learning and Teaching Adobe Lightroom with classroom exercises

This course unlocks the power of Lightroom as a teaching tool. Lightroom is part of the Creative Cloud package that is often overlooked and undervalued. Lightroom is much more than another version of Photoshop, it is a real Digital Darkroom that is both intuitive and responsive. Learning and Teaching Adobe lightroom takes you through the fundamentals of digital photography and gives you the skills and experience to use Lightroom to Manage Manipulate and Share all your photos. The course is focused on teaching and learning so the workshop is also crammed full of programming ideas and resources to incorporate Lightroom into your teaching.

Sessions

Introduction to Lightroom and Digital Photography Fundamentals

1 hour and 30 minutes

The first session consists of a face to face presentation on the fundamentals of Digital Photography and the advantages of Lightroom as a complete nondestructive workflow.

 
Managing - The Catalogue, Library and Collections.

1 hour and 30 minutes

Introduction to the interface and processes behind Lightroom.
Participants will work with Lightroom to learn about Catalogues and how to use the Library module and managing tools.

 
Manipulating - The Develop Module

1 hour and 30 minutes

Hands-on exploration of the Develop module and the tools for manipulation and refining images.

 
Sharing - The Book, Print and Web Modules

1 hour and 30 minutes

Participants will use the other Modules within Lightroom to understand the different ways Images can be shared published and outputted.

 
What To Bring

It is recommended that teachers/participants bring their own laptop with Adobe Lightroom installed if they do not have one a device can be provided for the day.

Completing this course will contribute six hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 2.1.2, 2.5.2, 2.6.2, 3.4.2, 6.2.2, from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
